Rocket Fuel in Local Lettuce

Perchlorate is a naturally occurring and manmade chemical used as the primary ingredient of solid rocket propellant. The US FDA found low levels of the chemical in nearly all of the lettuce and milk samples tested between December 2003 and August 2004 across 19 states. [CALIFORNIAN ONLINE]
